Another traveller. That wasn’t too uncommon. There were always people out on their Pokemon journeys, after all, as this one clearly was. After all, he was being followed by a duo of ape-like Pokemon. Those were probably intimidating to some people, but she had seen much more imposing mons. Plus, the man in charge of them seemed at least somewhat amicable.

Thus, she relaxed quickly after getting a bit wary of the newcomer. Plus, there were other sounds ahead that seemed to be of more import. “Evening,” she thus replied, somewhat absent-mindedly, hands still burrowed into the pockets of her dark blue coat.
Her attention was focused forwards, where she could barely make out movement. Nodding towards Delphox, the latter moved ahead first and soon illuminated an Elegyem trying to Headbutt a Wobuffet over and over, only to bounce back ineffectually. It was kind of absurd, really. But it was also a chance. After all, a woobuffet was not exactly a threat if not approached. But the Elegym was distracted and already distraught.

Thus, she signalled her Delphox to attack, causing it to throw a Mystical Fire from behind at the Pysichic type, following that up with a Pokeball in hopes of catching the scarred and dazed ‘Mon.

for moments, he watches the other trainer handle the elgyem with ease and efficiency, vibrant colors of the MYSTYCAL FIRE flashing around them.

oh, look! another wobbuffet for his team.

the psychic-types converse between each other, negotiating for a bit before eventually coming to terms.

"wanna join us?"

the wobbuffet nods, then wobbles over.

Well now that was a tad bit anticlimactic. While she did the usual thing of damaging a Pokemon before trying to capture it, the other apparently just kind of asked the Wobbuffet to come on over and it did. Now that was new to her, causing Violet to arch a brow and look at this newcomer doing his thing, while Delphox picked up the Pokeball with the now captured Elygiem.

Or rather, it tried, for as it bent down to pick up the red ball, a white one suddenly came barging at it. At least that was how Vio would characterize this Pokemon she did not know. It looked like some kind of blobbly thing encased in jello. Weird thing. But whatever it was, assaulting a Delphox like this was probably not the best idea, for the fire type just suddenly burst into flames, creating a Fire Spin that encased that little one until the jello was at least a little scarred. Vio just sighed and lobbed yet another ball, just in case. She was a Rocket now, after all. Even if she did not care about a Pokemon, she could always get some brownie points by gifting it to some grunts.

if they could find some time to train, however, as more and more wild pokemon keep showing up.

the xatu that appears peers down at matias and his psychic-squad. once again, they converse in their language, and the xatu simply flies away after.

Really? A training partner? She looked at him incredulously, even as the ball with the Solosis returned to her hand. That was another catch – and she was quite certain that she’d heard someone at base talking about wanting one. So, she’d keep it either way.

However, the mention of training was rather odd. Given that she clearly looked like she was travelling – in her eyes at least – and that it was currently nighttime, she really wondered how anyone could think that. “If I were training, I would probably have this young one out, really,” she noted before releasing her Poipole – which immediately perked up and flung itself to the side where it had noticed a Girafarig, venoshocking it with both surprise and poison. The pokemon yelped, clearly hurt, and she flung a ball at it as well.
“He likes to pick fights all the time, really. But I only had Delphox out because I needed the light. Though granted, that seems to draw in more Pokemon it seems.”

the orangurus step aside (or plop down on their butts) and gesture towards the massive golurk that fades out of its PHANTOM FORCE. its presence shakes the ground, and matias has no choice but to call out his haunter.

"burn it."

a simple order results in haunter sending out balls of WILL-O-WISP. it coats around the golurk, lighting it in flames.

at that, one of the orangurus enters the battle with a precise ZEN HEADBUTT, tipping the golurk over and right into a pokeball.

even after, WILL-O-WISP floats around haunter, lighting up the space around them.

"i thought we could use some light."

They were now being accosted by ghosts. Which was good. She could always, always use more of those. Plus, most of them were very pretty. While that man was busy dealing with a Golurk much like the evolution of her own Golett – which was way cuter than the big one, anyway – Poipole discovered another one floating nearby. Unlike its trainer, it was not exactly gripped by any kind of nostalgia regarding her first ever Pokemon, after all.

However, that one was also purple and relatively small, so a fight did not immediately ensue. Instead, the two of them circled one another for a bit in the light of the whisps. “Well, it seems like your lights are attracting more wild Pokemon. That is always the trade-off, though,” she replied to the stranger, once again recalling her ranger training. It was a bit uncomfortable thinking of these times, certainly, but she also could just use the knowledge and apply it in situations like this. Which was pretty good.

In the meantime, the ghost and the poison Pokemon seemed to come to an understanding. Misdreavous used Astonish first, which saw Poipole briefly stagger, but it recovered quickly and responded with another Venoshock, which probably concluded their little exchange. Hence, Vio used another ball.

having the ever-present WILL-O-WISP around them means they'll be attracting more wild pokemon, which is absolutely fine by him.

"that's fine. saves us the trouble of having to search for them."

maybe it'll even be enough to attract the prized unown.

but for now, he watches her battle with curiosity only to turn and see a wild wynaut caught on fire. it dances around in an attempt to put it out. thankfully, he saves it by throwing a pokeball at it.
